Italy’s Motor Valley is first and foremost a place of history and tradition. Without these two elements, it would not be possible to have Ferrari’s great racing cars or Ducati’s Desmosedici at the top of the world rankings today.
This is well known by all the companies that are part of this industrial district and for this reason, they proudly allow fans from all over the world to discover the origins of Italian automobile success in their museums.
For example, why not visit the world-famous Maranello Ferrari Museum? Here visitors can learn all about the history of the Prancing Horse, its legendary models, and relive Ferrari’s famous Formula 1 victories.
Along with the Enzo Ferrari Museum, which tells the story of its founder, Enzo Ferrari, and showcases some of the most beautiful and award-winning cars ever made.
Two other places that are not to be missed are the Mudetec Lamborghini Museum and the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum, which both retrace the history of the automobile brand through its historic cars and the life of its founding genius.
By contrast, located just outside Bologna, inside the company’s headquarters, you will find the Ducati Museum. Here fans of two-wheel vehicles can retrace the historical phases of the company and even visit the factory to find out in person how one of the fastest motorcycles in the world is created.
Equally impressive is the Pagani Museum, where a tour allows visitors to access the showroom, the design offices but, above all, the production line of one of the stars of internal motorsports, as well as the Dallara Academy, a new space that celebrates its founder Horacio Pagani’s passion for racing cars.
Yet the rich heritage of Italy’s Motor Valley does not end here.
There is the Marco Simoncelli Museum - The history of Sic in Coriano (Rimini), dedicated to the enterprises and exploits of the motorcycle rider Marco Simoncelli, who experienced a premature death;
the National Motorcycle Museum in Rimini dedicated to motorbikes from their origins to the present day; the “Francesco Baracca” Museum, which features the exploits of and memorabilia related to Italy’s top ace fighter pilot of the last century; the Checco Costa Museum, which showcases the origins and history of Imola’s racetrack; the Scortichino Motorcycle Museum - Italian Glories; the Industrial Heritage Museum in Bologna.
Plus, there are the many, beautiful private collections that display the indescribable charm that motors and speed have always had over this land and its inhabitants.
